Subsidized rent or Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI)

Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI), or subsidized housing, is made available by the City of Toronto to make rent affordable for households. There is a waiting list managed by the City of Toronto.

How to Apply

If you are interested in applying for rent-geared-to-income, you must apply through the Rent-Geared-To-Income Subsidy Program at the City of Toronto.

Eligibility

The Housing Services Act sets out rules about who is eligible for RGI assistance. To be eligible to apply for RGI assistance or continue to receive RGI assistance, at least one household member must meet the following two conditions:
